  8. HOW TO TAKE SELFTEST PAGE ? [GP-16xxx/11xxx/12xxx SERIES]

    Step 1. Load the print media and ribbon into your label printer. 

    Step 2. Press and hold FEED button and turn on printer power.

    Do not release FEED button until the printer prints a self test page.

  9. HOW TO GET DIP SWITCH FUNCTION ? [GP-16xxx/11xxx/12xxx SERIES]

    Step 1. Load the print media and ribbon into your label printer. 

    Step 2. Press PAUSE button and turn on printer power.

    Do not release PAUSE button until the printer prints a DIP SWITCH FUNCTION page.

     

          The DIP switch function page includes following information:

  10. HOW TO MODIFY PRINT SPEED AND PRINT DENSITY ? [GP-16xxx/11xxx/12xxx/15xxx SERIES]

    Step 1.  Open Nicelabel software, right click and select “Document Properties”.

     

    Step 2. Select driver name (Eg.: Gprinter GP-1625T), Click “Printer properties”.

     

     

    Step 3. Click “Print Options”, choose print speed (Speed) and print density(Darkness) as per your label content and print quality. Normally, lower darkness will protect print head and increase its lifespan, lower print speed will make logo and barcode print more clearly. You’re suggested to set up as per your actual needs.

     

    Step 4. This is another way to modify print density and print speed:

    Control panel à Printer and Fax ( or Printers & Scanners, windows 10) à Printer icon (Eg.: Gprinter GP-1625T) à Right click printer icon to find Printing preferences( or click “Manage” to find Printing preferences, Windows 10)à “Print Options” à Print settings: “Speed” & “Darkness”

  11. HOW TO SET BLACK MARK & PRINT MEDIA TYPE & PRINTING MODE ? [GP-16xxx/11xxx/12xxx SERIES]

    Part 1. Thermal Transfer Printing on Black Mark Paper

     

    (1) Install Windows Driver for your label printer, eg.: Gprinter GP-1624T

    (2) Restore factory settings if necessary.

    (3) Find Printing Preferences to set printing mode and paper specification etc.

    Page Setup:Width: as peractual width.

     Length: the gap distance between two black marks

    Media type:Labels with black marks

    Print Options:  Speed:  102mm/s or others you wish to test

    Darkness:  8 or others you wish to test

    Printing mode: Thermal transfer

     Please click OK to confirm above settings.

     

     

     

    (4) Load ribbon and black mark paper into the label printer.

       The side with black mark shall be downwards. Move the gap sensor to touch/cover blackmark paper.

       Move black mark sensor to the middle to make sure paper will pass over the black mark sensor.

    And pay attention that the black mark sensor shall be away from the hole of the paper if there is.

     

     

    (5) Open NiceLabel designer to design a label and print it out.

     

     

     

    Part 2. Thermal Transfer Printing on Label Paper With Gap

     

    (1) Install Windows Driver for your label printer, eg.: Gprinter GP-1624T

    (2) Restore factory settings if necessary.

    (3) Find Printing Preferences to set printing mode and paper specification etc.

         Page Setup:    Width: as per actual width.

                                 Length: as per actual length, not including gap size

                                 Media type: Labels with gaps

                                 Gap size: as per actual size

         Print Options:  Speed:  102mm/s or others you wish to test

                                 Darkness:  8 or others you wish to test

                                 Printing mode:  Thermal transfer

         Please click OK to confirm above settings.

     

     

     

    (4) If your printer with auto cutter, and you want to cut labels in whole batch or in 100pcs/500pcs /1000pcs different batchs. You can go to “Device Options” to set up as per your need. And please click OK to confirm your settings.

    Remark:GP-16xx series does not use linerless cutter, the regular/care label cutters DO NOT cut on media with glue.

     

     

    (5) Load the labels and ribbon into the printer.

    (6) Open NiceLabel designer to design a label and print it out.

     

     

    Part 3. Thermal Transfer Printing on Continuous Label Paper

     

    (1) Install Windows Driver for your label printer, eg.: Gprinter GP-1624T

    (2) Restore factory settings if necessary.

    (3) Find Printing Preferences to set printing mode and paper specification etc.

       Page Setup:    Width: as per actual width.

                               Length: as per actual length, not including gap size

                               Media type: Continuous labels

                               Gap size:0

    Print Options:  Speed:  102mm/s or others you wish to test

                            Darkness:  8 or others you wish to test

                            Printing mode:  Thermal transfer

    Please click OK to confirm above settings.

     

     

     

    (4) Load the labels and ribbon into the printer.

    (5) Open NiceLabel designer to design a label and print it out.

     

     

    Part 3. Direct Thermal Printing on Continuous Label Paper

     

    (1) Install Windows Driver for your label printer, eg.: Gprinter GP-1624T

    (2) Restore factory settings if necessary.

    (3) Find Printing Preferences to set printing mode and paper specification etc.

        Page Setup:    Width: as per actual width.

                                Length: as per actual length, not including gap size

                                Media type: Continuous labels

                                Gap size:0

    Print Options:  Speed:  102mm/s or others you wish to test

                            Darkness:  8 or others you wish to test

                            Printing mode:  Direct Thermal

    Please click OK to confirm above settings.

     

     

     

    (4) Load the labels into the printer, NO NEED RIBBON.

    Open NiceLabel designer to design a label and print it out.

  12. HOW TO RESTORE FACTORY SETTING OR INITIALIZE YOUR LABEL PRINTER ? [GP-16xxx/11xxx/12xxx/15xxx SERIES]

    Step 1.  Turn off the printer.

     

    Step 2.  Press PAUSE and FEED two buttons together, turn on the printer.

            -ONLINE and ERROR indicators are on together.

            -ONLINE indicator goes off, ERROR indicator is on.

            -ONLINE indicator goes on, ERROR indicator is off.

    Then release FEED and PAUSE two buttons.

     

     

    All data in printer DRAM will be cleared, printer will be restored to factory default settings.

     

     

  13. HOW TO CHANGE LABEL DESIGN SOFTWARE DIFFERENT EDITIONS ? [GP-16xxx/11xxx/12xxx/15xxx SERIES]

    Step1. Open NiceLabel Designer, you will start at 30-day Trial Mode, click “Try Other Editions” to check more about NiceLabel Designer.

     

    Step2. There’re 4 editions for you to try: PowerForms, Pro, Express, Fee edition.

    You can switch between different editions during 30-day trial period.

    If you want to keep free edition for long term use, please choose “Free Edtion”.

  14. HOW TO ENABLE AUTOMATIC CALIBRATION ? [GP-16xxx/11xxx/12xxx SERIES]

    DIP switch can be found from printer bottom, open the DIP switch cover, turn switch 5 to ON position to disable this function, turn switch 5 to OFF position to enable this function.

     

    When this function is enabled, different labels will be calibrated automatically. For example, you change 4”x4” label to 3”x6” label, turn on the printer and it will detect and calibrate, after calibration, press FEED button, labels will be fed one by one in right position.

     

    Pay attention, after changing labels, make sure you set the same size label in label design software, then printer will print the label as per your design and stop at the right position.
